One of the best ways you can develop as a designers is to get to industry events. Not only will you learn what’s new and what’s working right now, you’ll connect with like minded creative people.
So I want to draw your attention to the annual Canvas Conference in Birmingham. This event is now in its sixth year and it’s the biggest one yet.
Canvas is for anyone involved in designing, making and marketing digital experiences and takes place on the 26th October at the Birmingham Town Hall.
Over 500 digital people will gather to hear 10 practical and inspirational talks from an international lineup of speakers, who’ll share their insider stories of building some of the world’s most interesting products and services.
Beyond the trends and theory, you’ll hear stories from the people at the forefront of the world’s most interesting products. There’s no high level overviews or brand evangelists here, but actionable insights from people doing the hard work in the world of digital products.
Speakers include Emma Coats (an ex-Pixar storyteller who writes the personality for Google Assistant), Jane Kelly (Director of Data Products at Buzzfeed) and Hugo Cornejo (Head of Design at challenger bank Monzo).
Standard price tickets are only available until the end of September, so grab yours now! There’s also a limited amount of discount codes available for use by This Design Life members – just enter ‘thisdesignlife’ on Eventbrite for 15% off, or click this link.
